I have acquired a broad range of skills during the course of my 12 years in programming and as a professional Internet Developer for the last decade.

 

            Operating Systems

                        Unix (Solaris/BSD/Linux/Mac OS X)

I have used many types of Unix (and Unix-like) environments for both development and deployment for 12 years. I am well versed with all aspects of Linux administration and use. I am competent with the use of most other types of Unix.

                       

                        Windows (3.1/95/98/Me/2000/XP, NT)

I have used the Windows environment for both development and deployment for 9 years. I am well versed in all aspects of Windows administration and use.

 

            Programming Technologies

                        Java (WebServices/Servlets/EJB/Swing)

I have 5 years of experience using Java in various environments, for the development of both distributed and non-distributed applications with J2EE up to version 1.4.2, including Swing application development.

 

                        Flash (ActionScript)

I have 6 years of experience using Flash (and 2 years of experience prior to that using Director/Lingo with Shockwave) for building both distributed and non-distributed applications using versions 3 through 8. My understanding of Flash is extremely comprehensive, I have utilized its component architecture, as well as Flash Video and Flash Paper 1 & 2.

 

Server Side Scripting (ASP/JSP/PHP)

I have 6 years of experience with server-side scripting, utilizing all the available technologies, including ASP (VBScript), JSP (Java) and PHP (3 - 5). I am well versed with the use of all of these technologies.

 

SQL (Oracle 8 & 9, MySQL, Postgres, Microsoft SQL 6 & 7, Access)

I have 6 years of experience with SQL in nearly every environment available.

 

DHTML (JavaScript/CSS)

I have 12 years of experience using HTML and its related technologies. I have developed very strong cross-platform web design/implementation skills and stayed on top of all web technologies. I am fluent in the cross-platform use of JavaScript and Cascading Style Sheets.

Other Skills/Interests

I am an accomplished musician with 7 years of classical piano study at the studios of Cynthia Cara in DeLand, Florida. In pursuit of my music, I have become very technically proficient with a number of music-related technologies. I am a MIDI expert. I use Sonar Pro, Wavelab, and Reason in my studio.
